Trotting straight out of Nashville, Tennessee comes this tremendous eight year old bourbon! It is well known that bourbon and barbecued food are a match made in heaven – something that pitmaster Carey Bringle has heaps of experience in from the running of his family restaurant, Peg Leg Porker. With such a fantastic name, we are extremely happy that he decided to venture into the world of whiskey and create this his own bourbon! It’s a tasty sipper and should be spot on for mixing up some classic bourbon cocktails, perhaps alongside a barbecue.
Nose: Big and bold, plenty of oak char, with sweet caramel and subtle hints of pickle brine.
Palate: Sweet, toasted nuts and buttered popcorn, wafts of vanilla pod counter peppery oak, and a touch of sesame.
Finish: Peppery heat builds with sweetness still underlying, along with plenty of spicy oak.
