Bottled at an age when Ledaig is known to shine, this is more subdued on the nose than expected, developing cocoa, farmyard, distant iodine and whiffs of salinity. A more positive ‘Ledaigian’ presence in the mouth: Concentrated and chunky, like chewing on walnut chocolate fudge, the peat feels laced with cocoa; Maritime freshness accentuates at the finish, along with flamed citrus and a thrust of spice before the earthy peat comes full circle. 55.5% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered. 74 bottles from an oloroso sherry octave.
