Balmenachs are extremely rare. The novelty is heightened by a maturation in a Moscatel quarter cask. It feels like the wine has added a subtle floral lift to the nose, suggesting elderflower or jasmine? Cinnamon and madarine peel too? Mildly astringent, then toasty oak-like; Hazelnuts, rich malt and cocoa are followed by Ovaltine through the aftertaste. Unusual and engaging. 56.8% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered. 157 bottles.
